Our Story
Pope John Paul II Academy is an independent, private academy rooted in Catholic tradition, offering Pre-K through 8th Grade in the scenic mountain valley of Montrose, Colorado.
The Academy was founded in 2008 by a group of faithful families who desired a rigorous, Christ-centered formation for their children. Inspired by the legacy of St. Pope John Paul II, the school was established to provide an education that integrates faith, reason, and virtue — forming the whole child, not merely the mind.
In October 2013, the Academy moved into its 16,000+ sq. ft. facility, which includes ten classrooms, a library, and a full-sized gymnasium on twenty acres of land — a place where students can grow, explore, and thrive.
In 2014, the Academy received full accreditation from NAPCIS (National Association of Private, Catholic, and Independent Schools), affirming our commitment to academic excellence and authentic Catholic identity.
