Summer Reading

Keep the Love of Learning Alive

Summer Reading Program

Pope John Paul II Academy encourages all students to continue reading over the summer months. Reading over the summer helps students maintain and improve their literacy skills, expand their vocabulary, and develop a lifelong love of books.

Program Guidelines

  • Students are encouraged to read at least 20 minutes per day throughout the summer.
  • Required reading assignments are listed by grade level below.
  • Students should be prepared to discuss their summer reading at the start of the new school year.
  • Some grades may have written assignments or book reports due in the first week of school.
  • Please contact your child's teacher if you have questions about the summer reading requirements.
